You did it, Burner Community and BRCvr Thanks You!

WOW, what a week! We are speechless, hence our radio silence today!

Burning Man ‘the event’ has always been a week-long experience, and Black Rock City has always been a temporary place that arises from and returns to dust. BRCvr is an extension of these worlds, and as such, we are committed to the Principles, traditions and the need for “closure”.

In honoring ritual, and in giving our team a much needed and well deserved break, we have chosen to take the Main Playa (BRCvr 2020 Event) world offline from 11:59 pm Tuesday, September 8th until 12:00 pm Saturday, September 12th.

What does this mean for the 200+ worlds within the BRCvr universe?

That is entirely up to the creators of those worlds. They may choose to keep them alive or also go-to-dust with us for a few days, in practicing the Principle of Leave No Trace.

Don’t panic, we will only be gone 3.5 days! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to take the time and share with us your feedback, ideas, tech issues and most importantly, your moments and stories of “Playa Magic“. Your voice counts, practice Radical Inclusion by taking a few mins to complete this feedback form.

For those that did not get a chance to experience this year’s virtual burn?

Fear not! You will have the opportunity in spades after this coming weekend. For all those artists and camps that did not have time to get their worlds integrated, you will have plenty of opportunities to do so. We, ourselves, have a lot of work to do in bringing in new pieces and polishing others. The good news is that we will all have plenty of time to do this!

We have seen first hand the connections and community that BRCvr has inspired, and at a time where physical distancing and social isolation is becoming the norm, the principle of Immediacy rings true. There is an immediate need for connection and it is our Civic Responsibility to keep BRCvr available to our community. We envision a year-round destination for community, culture, creativity and conversation.

We Appreciate Your Support

BRCvr is in existence because of the dedication of a passionate group of volunteers donating their skills and their time to make this happen. In order to keep it going we need your help and we cannot do this without the community. Please keep BRCvr alive.

Please share this with your communities.

Many Thanks!

We want to thank Burning Man Project for recognizing us as one of the universes in the Multiverse. We want to thank Altspace for Gifting us a platform, creating a Mac Client, and the resources upon which we could launch our worlds.

And most importantly, we want to thank our beautiful community for your love, support and generosity in making BRCvr a reality. WE ARE HUMBLED. )’(

With gratitude,
The BRCvr Team
